Loving Kindness for your Heart

The following meditation, also known as Metta, is used in traditional Buddhist practice for invoking positive feelings and thoughts towards oneself and others.

May I be peaceful.

May I be happy.

May I be well.

May I be safe.

May I be free from suffering.

This meditation then extends to all beings and others and then back to oneself.

When applied to coherence training, this meditation can be directed to the heart to facilitate the necessary calm and composure of your heart, before progressing towards the state for coherence. Repeat the heart meditation while gently breathing, until you feel the released state of loving kindness in your heart.

May my heart be peaceful.

May my heart be happy.

May my heart be well.

May my heart be safe.

May my heart be free from suffering.
